Milica Golubovic for ABC Newspaper

ABC newspaper in Spain has recently announced their annual awards in its 99th edition of the International Journalism Awards “Mariano de Cavia”, “Luca de Tena” and “Mingote” Prizes that recognize the professional career and the best journalistic works published by publishing companies in their media, in 2019, in the usual categories of journalism, graphic journalism or drawing. The winners were the writer Arturo Pérez-Reverte, the journalist Maruja Torres and the photographer Dani Duch.

For this historical Spanish newspaper's cover, they chose the IQ artist Milica Golubović to create a colorful, fresh and baroque illustration for their special supplement about the prizes that were received from the Spanish Kings Felipe VI and Letizia in a glamorous event that took place in Madrid this last July.

The newspaper art director, Chus Aycart, highlighted the capacity of the Serbian artist of getting inspired by nature to create those 3 portraits that commemorated the 100th editions of that centenary newspaper awards, that has been always popular for its illustrations. So much so, that it has its own illustration collection on display in its own museum in the heart of Spain's ever-cultural capital: https://museo.abc.es/

It is lovely to have Milica as a part of the history of that important illustration collection.
