Annie Ryan is a U.K based Illustrator. She started her career in Sheffield after graduating but has since moved to the seaside city of Brighton. Her work focuses on the manipulation and distortion of images. She constantly gathers images – from 1940s mugshots to film stills, as well as photographs taken in everyday life. These form her library and ‘toolkit’ from which she starts the manipulation process. Elongation, disproportion, and texture are the signature of much of her work. It’s fascinating to her how the anatomy of the human form in particular lends itself so well to exaggeration and modification. When she’s not creating artwork she’s likely to be found up a hill or in the sea. The countryside forms the perfect backdrop for her creative ideas to brew. View Full Bio
