Johan was born in Nantes on the west coast of France. After graduating college with a Master of Fine Arts in 2006, he learned animation at the Pivaut school where he graduated in 2009. He then collaborated with various animation studios working on kids animation shows. With each of these projects, he continued to learn the various aspects of animation, backgrounds, character design, animation, compositing, and finally directing... In 2013, the collective MessieursDame was born under the roofs of the 6th district of Paris with 6 talented friends coming from animated movies and illustration. While working on various individual and collective projects this was the perfect environment to develop his career as an illustrator.
