Loulou Luyao Yan is a motion designer, illustrator, and designer based in NYC. Her work is her passion, and she nurtures it with care and a high regard for feelings and details. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts, NY, where she majored in Illustration and Motion. She is the recipient of the School of Visual Arts' James Jean Scholarship Award, Jack Endewelt Memorial Scholarship Award, and Joe Orlando Scholarship Award. As an illustrator and motion designer, she has worked for notable companies like Facebook, The Washington Post, Scientific American, and Nasdaq. She has also won several awards in the competitive industry. Loulou excels at translating complex concepts into clear designs that tell stories in a clever and eye-catching way. Her style is versatile, and she enjoys exploring new styles based on project needs. Her designs are both creative and functional, ranging from highly illustrative to minimal pieces, and her characters and animations are full of personality and individuality. Loulou's illustration and animation work is currently primarily in 2D digital, but she would love to explore 3D presentations. Loulou's favorite art styles include the Postmodern, Soviet-era, Republican era, Shōwa era, Bauhaus, niche emerging illustrations, independent animation, and Satoshi Kon. She is also an enthusiast of vintage posters and enjoys collecting various limited-edition art booklets. Loulou aims to create works that resonate deeply with her audience. She hopes her viewers will experience her work like hearing a song tailor-made for them, and that it will inspire viewers to recall their own emotions and memories, and move them to tears, laughter, encouragement, and warmth.
