Rather than relying on posters, ads, or social media alone, this project set out to place France Alzheimer’s message where people don’t expect to see it. Offshore sail racing offered that opportunity. Fast, public, and highly visible, it provided a powerful way to carry awareness far beyond traditional communication spaces.
An original illustration by Artistique illustrator, Fabien Gilbert, was printed directly onto both the sails and hull of a competitive offshore racing boat. Being helmed by the promising young french sailor Gaby Bucau, the boat embarked on the famous Figaro Circuit.
Gabby found this particular project very touching to him. As someone who's grandfather was struck by the disease, he wishes "to give a voice to the 1.4 million affected people in France, as well as their relatives and the carers who accompany them every day."
By combining sport, illustration, and purpose, the project creates awareness through motion. It shows how illustration can move beyond static formats to support real-world impact, using unexpected platforms to reach new audiences and keep important conversations in view.
